Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout
Today, we had a party to celebrate the Girl Scout Birthday. We invited a Brownie troop to celebrate with us. The girls played a game of Freeze Dance and Kim assisted the girls in making Yarn People. They turned out pretty cute. We then had cupcakes and ice cream. The girls were each given a party favor bag. Inside this bag was a Sister2Sister Patch they earned in addition to their Violet Petal.
Thanks to Kim and Autumn and Vy and Kyleah for the snacks!

OUR FIRST COOKIE BOOTH
March 7th 2009
We were to set up at Ingles from 12-4 on Saturday to sale cookies. This was our first cookie booth sale. The weather was absolutely wonderful, sunny and warm. As we were setting up our table and unloading the cookies, people were already coming up to us. The girls were quite the sellers. They were waving boxes of cookies in the air trying to get their customer's attention. In 2 hours, the cookies were sold out!
Unbelievable isn't it? Our grand total of cookies sold, including door to door, is 1056! All of the Daisies did an awesome job!

MEETING FEBRUARY 21, 2009
WORLD THINKING DAY 2009
This is a day in which Girl Scouts and Girl Guides in every country come together for a greater good. They learn about other countries and their traditions as well as focus on a theme. This year, the theme was AIDS, Malaria, and Other Diseases.
Our Troop celebrated this by learning about China. The girls made Chinese Lanterns and learned "Girl Scout" in Chinese. We discussed Malaria and demonstrated how this disease is spread. The girls played a game of "Mosquito Tag". The girls acted like mosquitoes. The only catch was some of these little mosquitoes had Malaria. If you were tagged by one of these, you got Malaria. It was fun for about a minute, because Alexis fell and hurt her knee. We are just grateful that it wasn't anything that a band aid couldn't fix. At the end of the meeting, the girls were given Chopsticks and a Chinese takeout box. Inside the box was a fortune cookie and the World Trefoil Pin.
Thanks to Wendy and Alexis for the snacks!
